If we aren’t listening, does it create a false sense of reality?
I believe that the answer to that question is a resounding YES.
Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of politicians, executives, and entrepreneurs who try to surround themselves with people who make them feel good.
Some will go to staggering lengths to surround themselves with people who just say “yes” to everything.
Even worse, some will create a “messaging cocoon” and only follow people on social media who agree with their worldview.
This mentality is bad for business, bad for our communities, and downright bad for future generations.
How do we grow if we can’t truly listen to others anymore?
If we get offended every time one of our clients raises a question about our products or services, how can we improve them?
If the goal is “success,” and it’s taking an idea that we have and moving it from point “A” to point “B,” we have to allow people in our life to question if our plans are progressing in the right direction.
We have to start listening again!
