11 years ago today, my grandfather died.
I'll never forget the last conversation we had together.
He told me that every day I wake up, I need to remember that some things in life are worth fighting for.
“People, Matt; people are always worth fighting for.”
He died 2 weeks later.
My grandfather was the man who inspired me to get involved in politics.
He implored me to work with people that had courage and integrity.
After his death, I obsessed about how to show leaders how to persuade their audiences more.
How did the great orators of our time crack the code of connectivity?
What were their strategies? Concepts? Formulas?
Five years ago, I developed a training to take business, political, and nonprofit leaders through to show them how they can persuade with power through the art of strategic storytelling.
The first two years after the launch, very few cared.
But I kept remembering my grandfather's words, “people, Matt; people are always worth fighting for.”
I knew that if I could get these concepts in the hands of leaders around the world, it would change everything for them.
Not only would they be able to accomplish more, but it would change the direction of their organizations and community.
In 2020, everything changed.
More and more companies started to reach out, asking to be shown the strategies.
Today, I turn down more speaking requests than I accept.
All of this points back to a man who showed me how to fight for people.
It's been awesome, but I'm just getting warmed up.
Even though I haven't seen my hero in over a decade, his fighting spirit continues to inspire me.
There are more leaders to help, more organizations to fix, and more businesses that need radical change.
