A couple of years ago, I made a goal of going to every presidential museum.
So far, I've been to:
-George Washington
-Thomas Jefferson
-James Buchanan
-Abraham Lincoln
-Rutherford B. Hayes
-Woodrow Wilson
-Warren G. Harding
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
-Lyndon B. Johnson
-Richard Nixon
-Jimmy Carter
-Ronald Reagan
-George H. W. Bush
-George W. Bush
...museums.
Each one fascinates me because they're all steeped in exciting stories and history.
You learn about the President's mistakes and victories.
Yesterday was Warren G. Harding's birthday, and I found his museum quite interesting.
Harding was viewed as a “bum” by most people. He was so undervalued that when he married, his father-in-law didn't talk to him for years. …until he became Lieutenant Governor of Ohio.
That “bum” went on to win as a Senator of Ohio and then the presidency.
Although very few people today are familiar with Harding, many historians consider him one of the most popular presidents in U.S. history.
Just because some people think you're a bum doesn't mean you can't do great things.
Happy belated Birthday, Warren G. Harding!
