I've had 9 posts go viral. Here's the brutal truth that I learned...
➡️ None of these posts led to new business
➡️ These posts sucked up way too much of my time
➡️ Some of these posts did not contribute to my mission
Today, I have zero desire to go viral.
Playing the “likes and engagement” game is a slippery slope.
Instead of trying to go viral, I’d challenge you to ask these 3 questions...
1️⃣ If a major news publication picks up this post, will I be proud of it in 2 years from now? (one of my posts was, and it caused all kinds of interesting emails)
2️⃣ Does this post actually contribute to my content strategy? (if you don't even have a strategy, that's a whole other problem)
3️⃣ Will my target ICP (Ideal Client Persona) connect with this post?
Trust me, going viral is not all it's cracked up to be. Your email will be flooded with hate mail, and you'll quickly see the darker side of humanity.
It's a cold world. Post wisely.
